What Modules will be covered?

On Saturday 19th March we will cover,

Module 7 Scouting for All

Module 11 Administration

Module 17 Running Safe Activities

Module 18 Practical Skills

On Sunday 20th March we will cover,

Module 12B Programme Planning

Module 16 Introduction to Residential Experiences

Module 19 International

Who can attend this training?

The training is aimed at any leader requiring an Assistant Section Leader or Section Leader Wood Badge,

Do I need to attend both days?

No, you can attend either day or both although we do ask that you attend a full day to gain the most from the training and we can't guarantee exactly when we will move from one module to the next.

Do I need to bring lunch?

No, lunch will be provided on both days along with refreshments throughout the day.

Is accommodation provided?

We have limited accommodation available, by choosing a reasonably central location we hope to keep the time spent travelling to a minimum. This is to reduce the volunteer hours needed to attend training, reduce our carbon footprint and keep costs low. Training will be moved around the Region, its better to move a few trainers than a whole course of leaders.

Is transport available?

We can collect you from Central Inverness if needed. There is public transport nearby and there is an option on the booking form to ask for or offer car sharing. On-street parking and limited off street parking is available at the venue.

Is there a cost for the training?

No. However training does cost money. Once you have a confirmed booking we ask that you let us know immediately if you cannot attend for any reason so that we can offer the place to someone else. If you don't attend without letting us know (no-show) your District Commissioner will be notified and your District will be invoiced by the Region for the cost of training place. Full terms and conditions for attending the training will be sent out to everyone requesting a place.

Is childcare available?

Unfortunately not. We would love to provide this and the aim is to make training as accessible as possible. Face to Face training is just getting underway again and there are a huge amount of logistics involved and we can't organise childcare this time. It is high on the agenda for future events.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

Once we have confirmed your place we will ask you to let us know if there are any arrangements or adjustments we need to make to ensure you can participate in the training.

Anything else happening at the training weekend?

Yes! There will be chance to validate Module 10B, ask lots of questions about validation, learn about the other Districts in the Region, connect with other leaders, share programme ideas, check your Compass record and find out about all the other training we do.

On the Saturday night we are having a social evening with food and fun where all are welcome.

How do I get more information?

Contact: Calum Swanson, Assistant Regional Commissioner Adult Training at training@hiscouts.org.uk

You've convinced me that I can't miss this wonderful opportunity, how do I book?

Fantastic, complete the booking form below or at this link. We look forward to welcoming you at the training weekend.

Please remember this is the first face to face training we have provided in a long time, we had to get used to virtual training very quickly and it was a steep learning curve, moving back to face to face is also a steep learning curve! We will do our best, constructive feedback will be welcomed.
