Training for Executive Committee Members

Thank you for volunteering to take on the role of Executive Committee Member, it is a role vital to the continuing success of Scouting. 

There is some training you need to complete to help you fulfil your role and keep everyone in Scouting safe. It is all available as e-learning enabling you to complete it at a time that suits you. Each module takes between 30 and 45 minutes and don't all need to be completed in one session. 

Don't forget to save the certificate at the end of each module and forward it to a Training Adviser so they can update your record. If you don't know how to contact a Training Adviser speak to your Executive Committee Chair/Group Scout Leader/Assistant District Commissioner (Adult Training)/Assistant Regional Commissioner (Adult Training).

It is recommended to watch the short how to video for e-learning before starting the modules.

Essential Information (Module 1) The aim of this module is to provide all adults in Scouting with the essential information needed to get started in their role.

Safety The aim of this module is to provide all adults in Scouting with an understanding of safety practice and responsibilities as a member of Scouts, to keep everyone safe.

Safeguarding The aim of this module is to provide all adults in Scouting with an understanding of safeguarding practice and responsibilities as a member of Scouts, to keep everyone safe.

GDPR The aim of this module is to provide all adults in Scouting with an understanding of what the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) means for them, their Scout Group, District and Region and how to effectively align with it.

Trustee Introduction The aim of this module is to provide the Charity or managing Trustees with information on their legal responsibilities and current regulations. You only need to complete this module if you have a role as a trustee / Executive Committee member.
