Cruising

Drive a motorised cruiser in the picturesque surroundings of the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness – if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster near Urquhart Castle.  Practise picking up a floating object – not that easy if the water is at all choppy when it is difficult to keep object in sight.  You may get a chance to navigate through Dochgarroch Locks.

Water Activities

Sailing:Experience the thrill of harnessing the wind by sailing either single handed or two person dinghies in the tranquil surroundings of Loch Dochfour and Dores Bay.

Kayaking:Come try your hand at traditional kayaking in single seat kayaks on the canal and scenic Loch Dochfour.  We cater for three different groups – beginners, intermediate and advanced.

Canadian Canoeing: What is the J – stroke?  Learn the skills of open Canadian canoeing while experiencing a scenic trip down the canal to Loch Dochfour while imagining yourself as a pioneer in the wilds of Canada!

Bell Boating: If you are up for a real team building challenge come take up the bell boating challenge.

Land Activities

Aerial Runway/ Frisbee Golf: Come and experience the thrills on the Aerial Runway and try your hand at target Frisbee round a course.

Archery: Receive instruction in archery and shoot at targets.

Backwoods Cooking: What tasty morsels does Jenny have in store.

Cally Ha Ha: As the name suggests a fun base – What will the base leaders think up this year!

Clay Pigeon Shooting: Following a safety talk you will be shown gun maintenance and have a chance to try your hand at shooting at clays.

Craft Base: See what the base leaders have thought up this year.

Crate Building: How high you can build a stack of crates. You will be attached to a safety rope as you climb the stack and place the crates that are handed up to you.

4x4 Off Road Driving: Under instruction experience driving a Land Rover over a course over undulating ground.

Gameshow Marathon: Join Jamie at a base this year!

Geocaching: Compass and GPS work. Try to find the hidden markers.

Incident Walk – Emergency First Aid: How good are you in an emergency? Remember our motto is ‘Be Prepared’

Kubb: Try your hand at Viking Chess.

Landmark Adventure: Spend most of Saturday at Landmark at Carrbridge. Go on the tree top trail, the timber trail, Wild Water Coaster, Adventureland, Microworld, etc.

Mountain Walking: A day in the mountains with fully qualified leaders. Weather permitting you will climb a Munro - a mountain over 3000’. (Only for those with proper clothing for the mountains).

Murder Mystery: How good are your Scouting and reasoning skills?

Off road Cycling: Mountain biking over trails. Be prepared to get muddy if the weather has been wet.

Pacman + Adventures: Pacman + well come and find out!

Photo Orienteering: Identify where the photographs were taken round the site.  Not as easy as one might think – can you be first to find them all?

Pony Treking: Experience the fun of letting the horse take the strain and seeing the world from a different perspective.

Rope Bridge: Build and cross a Monkey Bridge.
