Training for Section Leaders

Assistant Section Leaders and Section Leaders are required to complete getting started training within 5 months of taking up the role and then continue to complete a Wood Badge. Learn more about the Wood Badge here.

Getting Started Training is listed on a separate page here on the website. Below are the modules required for a Section Leader Wood Badge and how to access them.


Module 12A - Delivering a Quality Programme. 

This is available as an e-learning module on the Scout Website, it can be found here.

The Region Training Team is running an online training course via Zoom for this module on the evening of 2nd June 2021. If you wish to attend this course please complete the booking form by clicking the link below.

*It is a requirement to have completed the learning for module 12A before attending this course. If you have not yet completed this you can either access the e-learning on the Scout Website or attend the course being run on the 20th April.*

Module 17 - Running Safe Activities.

A new and updated version (2020) of this module is being offered by the Region Training Team on the 24th April 2021 at 3pm. The previous version of Module 17 shows as discontinued on many PLP's but the new version is still required for a Section Leader Wood Badge.
